I am thinking that over the next couple of weeks, I am going to start working on the playroom in our house. We are actually going to start painting today! I’ve had a few ideas floating around in my head, so I’m going to try to lay out all the playroom decor inspiration in this post. Hopefully it will help me figure out what exactly I want to do with the room and its decor!

Here is a little mood board of the look I’m going for:
Eventually, our plan is to move the playroom to our basement, but that will not be until we finish it down there. In the meantime, it’s current location is right at the front of the house. Right. In. Front.
Our pre-kid plan was to make that room into a T.V. free room. It still is that, but it is definitely not the library-esc kind of room we initially envisioned. My goal with this revamp is to keep it kid friendly and fun, but to also not make it too much to have to update once we move the toys out of there.
Right now, the room is a dark teal. I love the color, but not in this room. We did not prime before we painted, and it shows. Plus, the room is a lot darker than I’d like it to be with this color.
I want to paint a majority of the walls a neutral color, and do the two you see when facing the door green. I want a green similar to a vintage chalkboard so I ended up picking Kendall Green from Sherwin Williams as my color! For my neutral, I am going with Colonnade Gray from Sherwin Williams
I want to create a little art space. I have a table and 3 chairs that I have fixed up for it. I’m thinking I want to get some white trimmed gallery style frames and hang them up to display his works art, changing it out often.
I also made a DIY version of this sign:
My last bit of artwork that I have in minds is this poster:
Those are my ideas so far! I’m sure that there will be more as we get started! Here’s to a happy hurricane painting party!
