Typically, I go pretty traditional when it comes to Christmas decor. I gravitate towards red and white, and that’s typically reflective in most of my decor during this time of year. However, since our little girl Ivy has been born, I embrace all things “pinkmas” in her room! Here is a look at our little girl’s Christmas bedroom decor:
I changed up the ornaments for her tree this year, but I mostly stuck with the same color scheme: pink, gold, with a little teal thrown in for pizazz. I picked up this mini tree collar at Five Below this year. It came a bit of a shinier rose gold, so I spray painted it the color you see in the photo using this. Most of the new decorations came from Dollar tree; I got some pink and gold Christmas ball ornaments in two different sizes. The ribbon was also from Dollar tree. I only grabbed one spool, but I wish I’d grabbed two. I also picked up a mini ornament pack from Walmart along with my favorite find: these confetti lightbulbs!
They came as 5 bulbs strung together. I cut them off and hung them each as separate ornaments instead.
The “topper” was an angel pick from Michaels from a part year. (Although, if you have to have it, I did see several listed on resale sites like Poshmark, eBay, and Mercari. just search for “Ashland angel pick”)
Final note on the tree: I used tinsel garland! This is my first time ever doing it, and I have to say that I am a huge fan! Especially on this tree that is old and cheap (read: bare as heck) because it really helped fill it in and improved the overall look. I wrapped the tree first in is and kind of stuffed it back in the branches.
Over by the bookshelf I set up the bottle brush trees that have become a staple. I got the teal and pink ones a couple years a go from Pier 1, but the maroon one was a new one from Walmart this year.
On the shelves above, I tried something different and I just love it! First, I swapped out the Dr Seuss books that are normally displayed for some Christmas titles. The round hanging signs got flipped around and I used some glue dots to add the snowflake ornaments from the Walmart set I had gotten for the tree.
Above the crib, I hung the DIY bottle brush garland that I made.
I also added the poster board insert to the sign to make it fit the season.
I’m so happy with how everything came together! What do you think? Are you a fan of traditional or non traditional color schemes for Christmas?
